We recently heard from our program leadership that they will not be administering the ITE to our residents this year, which was unexpected.

My question is whether this is unique or whether any other residency programs are not administering it in 2020.

I honestly am surprised by this. I think this is very unique.

This is very unique and more unusual - how else is your program planning to monitor your progress on Board preparation?? This also wouldn’t be ideal for those interested in competitive fellowships - cardiac and pain, mostly - as ITE scores can play a significant role.

I wonder if the OP heard this wrong and the program is instead dropping the AKT tests. Mine dropped them mid-residency which was a very welcome change.

My thoughts exactly. We did AKT 0 (pre anesthesia) and AKT 1 (after 1 month of anesthesia) and that's where it stopped.
