I'm wondering if the vinyl group activates or deactivates the benzene ring? Directing either para/ortho or meta substitution? My textbook seems to address all possibilities of substituents but not the vinyl group...

Any help would be great!

i believe it is a weak EDG and directs o/p

It is an o/p director, but not a strong activator.
