I have a month till the real DAT.
i have been scoring between 15 and 18 on the kaplan and topscore tests.
how much increase should I expect. is 20 a realistic score to shoot for?

Yes it is. I was scoring in a much wider range - (gulp) 11 to 22. Those are good practice scores. Don't get too comfortable and slack off on your studying. Keeping your nose to the grind stone is key to a good score.

Aiming for a 20 definitely isn't too high. Like Sprgrover said, don't let this be an excuse to slack off, but most of the other students in my Kaplan class scored around 1-3 points higher for their Academic Average on the real test. I personally scored around 5-6 points higher than the scores I was getting at Kaplan and on TopScore. Keep studying hard, and 20 should be within your reach! 🙂

alright sounds good.....i still have 4 weeks, and am gonna be studying around 5 hrs. a day.....hopefully i will get to where i need to be.

hey, i never got any score above a 20 on any of my practice tests (kaplan and topscore). and some were as low as 12. i ended up with a 21 AA, 20 TS, and 15 PAT. the only part where i was scoring much higher than i actually did on the real thing was the PAT. study that like crazy, otherwise, if ur scoring above 15-16 on the sciences u'll do great on the real thing. good luck

omar

thanks omar,
my last 2 recent practice tests were 16 and 17 AA. my PAT was about 19 or 20. i guess i still need to study PAT even though its a higher score.
