I'm currently a Freshman at Temple U. doing pre-reqs for Temple.
I just had a talk with my advisor and was told that I should be taking the PCAT and applying to Pharmacy School around Dec/Jan
Does this sound about right to everyone?

Also I was looking at other Pharmacy Schools and many pre-req seem different. Does a pharmacy school's exact pre-reqs have to be completed before to be admitted in?

PCAT is only given 3 times a year (Oct., Jan., and June). Remember that you will need to be doing your applications about a year in advance of when you want to enter. For example, I will be entering pharmacy school in Fall 2006, so I started working on applications, finishing up pre-reqs, and studying for and taking the PCAT in July 2005. (I took Oct. PCAT, which I think is the most popular one).

In answer to your 2nd question, yes - you will pretty much have to meet your schools' exact pre-reqs, which means that you need to go ahead and figure out which schools you are going to apply to, so you can structure the rest of your time to meet those pre-reqs. That can be more difficult in your type of case (since you won't already have or be finishing a bachelors degree).

Yes you have to complete each schools prereqs or a class they determine to be equvalent at your school. Yes its a pain in the ass since each school is different, but thats the way it is.
