Questions about application process, please help

Hello all,

I had a few questions about the application process if you could be so kind to answer.

Here they are:

1) I read that TMDSAS open and close dates for application submissions is May 3rd and Oct 1st respectively, does anyone know the open and close dates are for AMCAS?

2) If I have intentions on applying this cycle, and if I take the MCAT the first week of August, would this be considered VERY late to apply (considering it takes about a month to receive your MCAT scores back)?

3) Does anyone know of any type of fee that one could pay to speed up the process of getting your MCAT scores back? Just curious.

4) If I do take MCAT the first week of August, what is the MOST I can possibly do before I take it when it comes to applying?
Can I submit my primaries/transcripts to AMCAS/TMDSAS before I receive my MCAT scores back?

1.) I'm not sure about the close date, but AMCAS is already open. It opened for submission on like June 1st or 2nd.
2.) Especially on SDN that is considered pretty late considering you wont get your scores back until the first week of September, which would be the very earliest you would be considered complete.
3.) There is no amount of bribery that would make your scores come out earlier. Everyone wants their scores early, but this is just the way it is.
4.) I don't know about TMDSAS, but with AMCAS you can submit your application to be verified without an MCAT score, and indicate that you are taking it at the beginning of August. Put down 1 school to have your app sent to in order to start the verification process, and in the month between when you take the MCAT and when you get your scores start on all the secondary essays for all the schools you are thinking of applying to. You will be able to find the prompts when others start receiving secondaries in the 2010-2011 school specific discussions. If you have all of your LORs and your secondary essays done, you would maximize your chances.

1) You can submit the AMCAS between June 1 and Nov 15.

2) Yes, that would be very late.

3) Not that I know of.

4) You can submit your primary and transcripts, and LORs. You may or may not get secondaries without an MCAT score.
