I really enjoyed my interview at mayo, but I've had some questions about the program. Would really appreciate any advice.

1) I'm wondering about the diversity of the patient population. I'm interested in working with underserved communities and would like do some community health work during and after residency. I got the impression that they are very supportive of residents with such interests, but I didn't meet many residents who were involved in such work? Are there ample opportunities to do this at mayo?

2) Building on the above question, what are the patient populations like at Mayo Jacksonville and Arizona? Are they underserved populations, urban vs rural or mainly tertiary care?

3) I've heard rumors about fairly low patient volume. Could a resident or mayo med student perhaps comment on the volume of patients seen?

4) I'm still undecided about fellowship. Is anyone able to comment about fellowship opportunities after residency, perhaps as compared to other top programs ie. the
BCRP, Pitt or Co? Does the mayo name still go a long way in peds?

Thanks for your help! Would really appreciate any answers.

Does anyone know anything about mayo peds that they'd be willing to share? Thanks!

Ignore this, wrong placement of my comment and don't know how to delete it
