This isn't really about military medicine, but more about AR regarding students in the reserve.
1: Does anyone know the rules regarding mobilization of a med. school student in the reserves? It seems to me like it would be detrimental to the army and the soldier to mobilize him/her during med. school. Why send them over as a grunt when they can wait and send them as a doctor?
2: Will schools be willing to hold a spot for that med. student if they are mobilized? Will they be kicked out of med. school? Will they have to start over as an MS1?
I've been deployed before and while it was a good exper. dealing with all the B.S. from the higher ups just negates everything that can be taken as good. I wouldn't want to be deployed again, because you have to work so hard to get into med. school and during med. school that it would be horrible to be taken away from it.

In the Navy every 6 months you have to redo your "personal profile". One of the questions is along the line about being essential to your job or undergoing medical school training. If you answer "yes" to this you are put on IRR.

I would check with your command to ensure what their policy is. It should be standard but each unit seems to have their own take on how an instruction should read.
