Is it difficult to get a job as a Medical Assistant after graduating? A lot of people say it is because employers want you to have experience. Would it be good experience to work as an MA if I want to get my LPN or RN? Also if I decided to relocate to another state. Would I have to take another Medical Assistant program?

It just depends on the company. I graduated this past May with a degree in Biology and I was hired as an MA in an urgent care clinic with absolutely no experience. The manager liked that I was wanting to go to med school. A lot of hospitals require certification and experience, but if you have any practices in the area that are an urgent care type setting, check them out. You can PM me if you have any questions about it. It is good work experience because you can give injections, do phlebotomy work, get good patient interactions, and become familiar with some medications and procedures. I feel it is helping prepare me for medical school.

Did you have to learn any math?
Not above basic math skills. For our clinic, we sometimes just have to calculate dosage, but it isn't difficult. I didn't have to learn anything in that regard.

Try going through your university’s pre-health organization. I had trouble finding an MA position on job websites (everyone asked for MA certification plus 2+ years of experience) but no issues after reaching out to the right people. Also ask your pre-med friends for any leads.
