Hey can anyone give me any insight here? My professors (3) are going to write my letters of recommendation pretty soon. They want a personal statement from me, around 1-2 pages, and then they are going to include that into their letter. Do I need to write three separate and different personal statements for them?

Also I am beginning to write my personal statement for the application process. Do I need that personal statement to be completely different from the ones I wrote for my professors? Do I only need to write one personal statement or multiple for everything?

I would provide them with the same personal statement for your dental app...that's what I did anyway, along with providing them with a general resume. Professors just want something to structure their letter around and want to be able to reference things you include in your statement. I wouldn't overthink it.

Thanks for the insight, kholley. I was also wondering the same thing. I kinda feel uncomfortable giving my professors identical personal statements, but it would be nice to not have to write a bunch of unique ones.
Is there any risk involved with giving them all the same one?
