For those who non-science majors out there:

When did you compete your science prerequisites: i.e. Did you take them all as evening classes?/Did you take them all as summer classes?/Did you end up add an extra class per semester in addition to your regular major classes?

When did you end up completing the science prerequisites: end of sophomore year, end of junior year, after completing your bachelor's degree, etc?

For non-science majors, is taking all of your science prerequisites at a community college frowned upon?

Any insight to the above questions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I took my major classes concurrently with my science prerequisites. I also took classes year round (summer and winter intersession that my university offered). My last semester I took my final science prerequisite at a community college because I was taking the max # of credits the university I attended allowed. I took physics II as my last prereq because it wasn't on the DAT and I had already been accepted to dental school pending my completion of that last class. I would NOT take all my sciences from a community college. That will most likely be frowned upon by any dental school I know of. I could be wrong-- I've never been on admissions board or anything but I wouldn't do it. Maybe one or two would be forgivable but I would be careful--- like I said I did take ONE science class from a community college because I had to.

So I finished my final science class the semester I graduated. I actually liked doing a non-science major half the time and science the other half. It was great variety going from a Civil War history class to Organic Chemistry.

I had already graduated a few years before deciding on dental and had not take any of the science prerequisites. I took them all over the course of a year and a half. I took 3 or 4 classes per quarter while working part time. I was told by the director of dental admissions at my school that community college credits were frowned upon. That was about 10-12 years ago.

Thanks for the very helpful replies guys. I really appreciate your insights!!
