Hi, does it matter what college you are going when you apply to dental schools? For instance, would a 3.4 GPA at an Ivy League be better than a 3.7 at a local university? Have a good day~

I just wrote a topic "Better School or Better GPA" because I had exactly the same question. I sent email to Admission offices and got about 8 answers from them. I hope this helps.

Perhaps at some schools the words "Ivy League" carries some weight, but overall I believe that adcoms compare and contrast gpa's and DAT scores with not too much consideration given to the name of your school. I attended a state university and did very well when it came to interviews and acceptances. What does this all mean? - Don't worry about where you came from, focus on your talents, strenghts, and abilities, and winning 'em over in the interview because what counts is where you are headed.

What did they tell you?
