I was recently offered an April interview at western. I am in an awkward position because I was already kind of committed to another school because I wasn?t expecting this interview, but originally Western was my first choice. So if anyone could answer these questions about the interview and the school I would appreciate an info. Thanks

1) They have told me that only ? of the class is fill already? I feel that they probably have more than that. Do you think this is just an interview for the waitlist or has anyone heard of them giving an acceptance this late in the process?

2) I have heard that the school used to be a strip mall, but I also know that it has be around for about 25 years, so I would guess they the have fixed it up a bit. Is the school a nice environment for learning? If anyone has some pictures of the school, or knows where I could find some please let me know (I can?t find any on their website).

Thanks again.

i have a question about western as well...i was wondering if those of you who have gotten interviews there could mention your stats and any other insight into the application process at western...thanks! if you would prefer to PM me, feel free!

COMP is a cute little school! Email me if you would like pictures--they are scanned pictures, so they take up too much memory to attach to post.

I interviewed Dec 13, and was accepted by January. However, I had previously put down a deposit at another DO school, and was awaiting acceptance at my first choice, USUHS. I turned down acceptance because I didn't want to lose more money--USUHS was number one school, and COMP and LECOM were tied for second. I did not have funds to put deposit at COMP just to lose if I went to USUHS (which I now am).

Recommendations? Be honest, be true. The interview is informal, but they try to rattle you. Be familiar with what you put on your med school essay. Also, one thing that caught me by surprise was they asked 1. How many schools I have applied to 2. How many have I interviewed at 3. How many Have I been accpeted at 4. Of those I interviewed, if I got into all, including COMP, which would I choose? (This one I had to make up, because although top choice, COMP was number two, not one--can't beat the military USUHS)

If you are interested in travel, and working in rural urban areas, this is good choice. I liked ability to become fluent in spanish while in Med school. Also--if I went, I would have been HPSP and they would arrange to have military clinicals. (important in getting residency of choice).

Stats?
