questions asked at DPT interviews

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
A PT I observed compiled these questions from students who interviewed at several schools. I have an interview next week so I'm happy to go through these and share them here in the process.

- What can you contribute to the field of PT?
- What communication skills are important to a PT?
- What ethical standards will you promote in your work as a PT?
- How will you handle the stress of the DPT program?
- Give one source you turn to for information besides a textbook or a professor.
- What skills and strengths do you possess that are essential to being a good PT?
- What are your weaknesses? What are you doing to improve on your weaknesses?
- What life experiences have made you a better person?
- Name a situation in which a miscommunication occurred. How did you deal with it?
- What accomplishments are you most proud of?
- What observation in a PT setting has had the most influence on your decision to become a PT?
- Describe some of your most challenging and enjoyable observations.
- With what population do you anticipate wanting to work?
- Why PT? As opposed to another health- or helping-related field.
- What component of this particular program impresses you most?
- What questions do you have of us regarding the PT program or the PT profession?
- What will you do if you do not get into the PT program?
- Describe any kind of group work your have been involved in and your role within the group.
