Just curious about a few things. I'm currently in school and want to know a few things from those who are practicing.

(1) How old are you and how long have you been practicing?
(2) What kind of practice setting do you work in?
(3) What do you think about it?
(4) Do you have a particular speciality? What is it? Why did you choose it?
(5) Did you have any other careers or was this your first? Why did you choose it? What other careers were you considering?
(6) Is it a stressful job? What is the most stressful aspect?
(7) How do you feel about the current state of the field? What about the future?
(8) Do you have any complaints about it? Or in general?
(9) What would you change about it?
(10) Any advice for someone embarking on a new career?
(11) What do you think is the best speciality and practice area? What about locations?

Anything you would like to share would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Us practicing PTs don't have time to write out long-hand answers to your questions. Most of them have been answered in one way or another, if you take the time to browse this forum. Or make a survey (e.g., on surveymonkey) and you should get some responses.

Hey,

Thanks a lot for your answer.

What's wrong with private PT school? Too much money? I've always avoided private schools for that reason. Anything approaching that tuition range is nonsensical.

yes, private schools are too expensive. No one should borrow $100,000 so they can make $60,000 a year.

Hey, it's completely understood.

That's why I said "Anything you would like to share..." The implication is that I would appreciate anything from a one-word response to a 10,000-word essay. Very open ended.

I'm not pressing anyone for information here.
