Hey everyone - I'm interested in peds but so far I've only been able to experience outpatient peds. I'd like to learn more about what being a peds hospitalist is like and I haven't seen a thread on this recently. So for the peds hospitalists out there, how satisfied are you with the job? Do you feel like you see a wide, interesting variety of pathology or do you feel bogged down by routine low acuity cases? Is there the chance to do procedures every once in a while? Also in regards to the fellowship, will it become a hard requirement in your opinions? Many of the peds attendings I've talked to told me currently it's only expected if you want to go into academics.
Thanks in advance!
