I plan on taking the PTCE so I can get a job as a pharm tech and I've borrowed a book from the library and started studying. (Hopefully I feel confident to apply before the deadline.) On the forum I've seen a lot of posts about people passing the exam by just studying from the book. I was wondering are there people that have studied and didn't pass the exam? I'm nervous about the test 🙁

Also, I'm a freshmen in UCD and have completed many of the non-science prereqs for pharmacy school which also counted for credits for my major so I'm ahead. Since I have some free space to take extra classes I was wondering if there are certain classes that pharmacy schools would like to see ie. pharmacology etc. Or if it is better to double major. (there is another major that has the same requirements as mines except around 5 classes extra) Or I can simply pump up my GPA 😛

Thanks!

I go to UCD also. For a biology major I know that if you take OChem 1 and 2 Biochemistry can be applied towards the 14-16 hours of electives. I'm also taking Physiology to beef up my transcript. I'd recommend Cell Biology with Dr. Stith. He focuses a lot on cell signalling and sometimes throws in drug/receptor type material. I'm planning on taking his Cell Signalling course next semester.

These are just my guesses of good electives. Who knows what the admissions people are actually looking for.
