I came to the US recently from Iran. I graduated from dentistry school there. I want to go post-graduate dentistry school here in the US. I have passed my boards in Iran and have my detistry degree. I am not sure how much of that carries over here and whether I need to take additional tests because I am from Iran. Can anyone help me figure out which exams I need to take or point me in the right direction where I can find this information. Do I need to take the NBDE? If so, how often is the exam given? Is it given in many locations or just a select few? Thank you for any help you can give me!

post graduate program requirement is different for each specialty. Some will even require you to take GRE, most will require TOEFL as you're a foreign citizen. The best bet is checking up on each of the program that you wish to apply.

NBDE is required if you wish to have a US school degree - DDS or DMD. In which case you will take 2 years of dental schools(3rd and 4th year) education, passing both Part 1 and Part 2 of NBDE.
