Hello everyone,

I am currently taking BIOL 2107 (Principle of Biology). I would like to ask. Does AP Biology help me for preparing for DAT also?
If not, could you please tell me which books should I use to practice Biology now that also helps prepare for biology in DAT test?
Thank you. I really value your responses.

Hey there! You're in luck--the answer to this question has been answered 1000x on SDN, and over time, a few resources have basically been pegged as the "best" ones for preparation.

Check the ultimate breakdown collection thread--the link is in my signature. It will basically tell you everything you need use to prepare.

@Glimmer1991. I appreciate your quick response.
Let me just be a little more clear. I am in college now. I want to do Pre-Den. I am taking Principle of Biology I, next is II.
I want to buy a book to study for my Biology I Tests in class since my teacher makes tests very challenging.
I am asking is AP Biology also help for studying DAT also? I want to buy AP biology to study for my Principle of Biology I in college.
Thanks.

If you're going to study for the DAT it definitely would not hurt to study from an AP Bio book. The Bio section on the DAT covers a pretty wide range. So the more you know the better.

Also don't just think that the AP bio material is the only thing on the DAT.

I got it. And No, I do not assume that AP Biology is enough for DAT Studying.
I want something to study for my Principle of Biology I class that also helps prepare for DAT.
If DAT is a good one. Then I go with it, I am going to purchase on at BarnesandNOble today after work.

Thank you 😀

Don't use Barnes and Noble. Much more expensive. Go here:

http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/free-online-cliffs-ap-bio-3rd-edition.1053842/ (FREE! And you want to use the 3rd edition of this book for DAT preparation.)

http://www.amazon.com/Barrons-Biology-4th-Deborah-Goldberg/dp/0764146920/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1393010341&sr=1-1&keywords=barron's ap biology

You can start using the first one today. The second one will arrive in a few days.
You're awesome. Thanks. May I ask? Are you a dental student now?

Shouldn't he use the Barron's 3rd edition as well? When I saw it in the library it said it removed a lot of info to match the changes in the AP test.

AP bio is a good staring material. However, not enough. You might want to look at Cambell, Destroyer and Cliffs bio. They offer much more info.
