Questions on EM

I was wondering about EM and how its a sorta jack of all trades specialty I've heard. I don't know if its appropriate to post here but I interested in knowing how EM affects chances of getting a job as a clinical investigator? The guy that runs all the drug trails for pharmaceutical companies and oversees that. Is it possible with a EM residency? Or do they prefer IM? What's the pay like? Is it possible to run that job and a few shifts in ER?
