i think post bacc means masters, or phd or some other professional degree or designation.

hopefully someone can confirm.

A post-bac is technically non-degree courses you took after a bachelors, and not part of a second bachelors.

It’s kind of an in between area after a bachelors, but before a higher degree (masters, PhD DDS).

In the OP’s situation it doesn’t really matter what you call it because it is just a name, and won’t make a difference anywhere or to anyone (except for the fact that you do have a second degree).

A post-bac means you earn a certificate stating that you completed a post-bac with the classes you took. A masters earns you a higher degree.

certificate?? I completed post-bacc courses and I didnt receive no stinkin certificate. D*mn the certificate gods!!!, D*mn them!!!

Sorry about that. actually, post-bacc just means taking non-degree seeking classes after you received your bachelors. Ie, I took science pre-recs after I received my business degree since they werent required for my major.

Yeah that is what my school told me. Maybe by certificate they meant, statement on your transcript saying you completed a post-bac.

All the post bacs I looked into had no certificates or designations for transcripts. They were all informal post-bacs, which basically means you’re a grad student without a major. This allows you to register and take all the classes like a grad student but without earning a degree.

There are a few formal post-bacs out there that tell you exactly what courses to take and will award a certificate. Since the classes are usually all the science pre-reqs, these are generally for people who were non-science majors.

That must be what I was thinking of. It makes more sense that way.

Does post bacc means courses you took after you graduated? (I have 2 degrees, so 1 degree suppose to be post bach?)

Academically, post bacc programs are those that lead to a degree, e.g. master or doctorate (Ph.D., D.D.S., M.D., O.D., Pharm D., DVM, ED, and others). You can have as many degrees (bacc) as you want but each additional degree is not considered a post bacc. Your second degree, even if you received a formal (bacc) degree does not qualify as a post bacc The confusion appears to come from the post bacc programs that are being offered by professional schools (dental) as remedial courses intended to improve a candidate's chance of being accepted to ds. They are evaluated as undergraduate courses.

this has the most politely worded title I have seen in a long time on this forum.. 🙂

I second what doc toothache said.
