Hey guys, this is my first time coming to this forum and I've only gone through about 20 posts but it seems full of some very helpful intelligent people =] I plan on taking my DAT mid June, to give me time to retake it if I dont do well

I have a few questions and such, I hope you can all help answer for me:

1) Is the AA your actual/final score? lets say a program calls for 'at least a 20 on the DAT' is your AA that score?

2) I have NOT YET STARTED STUDYING AT ALL for the DAT but plan to start a very rigorous schedule by Monday (I need to gather some DAT studying supplies) So far scoping the forums I plan on trying to get:
'Cliff's AP Bio' (Is this just the cliff notes?)
'CrackDAT PAT/MATH' (Where can I get this, and what format is it? I didnt see it on eBay)
Along with some DAT books and such...and an ochem book...

2.1) Are you allowed to use a calculator on the math section?? And if not, is the math pretty basic?

3) I won't be taking O-Chem until next semester (After my DAT) and they aren't offering it in the summer so i need your help to pick the BEST possible Ochem help you can offer!!! What material do I need?? <- this is an especially important question!!

4) The program (Im pretty sure I'm getting accepted to) says I only need an 18 on the DAT (along with a very high GPA, which is currently in excellent standing) for acceptance into the school. How very difficult will this be??? Do you think it possible to score an 18 by Mid June just starting studying now, and with no Ochem background to speak of?

Any other opinions or comments are appreciated as well =] thank you~

you're going to try to teach yourself ochem? the best material to study from would be .. an ochem textbook. ochem is pretty hard though..doesnt sound like a good idea to me but thats just my 2 cents

Yeah, same here, I think ochem is really hard to learn on your own. And you can't use a calculator for the QR section.

Yes, 20 would be your AA= Academic Average. Also, ochem is a not an easy subject to learn on your own, I agree with the rest. However, try to look over Kaplan BB to understand the basics, and Destroyer Roadmaps is key!! There's a lot of reactions provided and even more reactions than Kaplan. I suggest also you do a lot of practice problems in that book. For the math section, unfortunately you can't use a calculator, so you basically have to know how to do log questions and stuff without the calculator. Good luck!
