As NAVLE results roll out (congrats to all the lovely 2018ers who passed!), I have been accumulating a handful of interviews, and now my SO and I are somewhat stuck on what to ask about/what should be important as a first job. (For reference, I have interviews at primarily emergency hospitals and my SO has interviews at GP clinics).

So what questions were important to ask, and what sort of things did you wish you asked or consider to be vital in your career as a vet that you are glad you have in place?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Someone will have to chime in with ER hospital specific questions, but check out this thread from over on the veterinary board that Cyndia posted back in November. DVMD and I posted quite a few and I think a few others chimed in with some helpful tidbits.

The question that I did ask and wish I'd paid more attention to was more to the other associates. Ask them how long they've been there, what they think of it, that kinda thing. You can always see if they want to meet after work for a dinner or coffee or whatever (your treat of course) to discuss it. A $15 meal may save you a year of frustration if the oldest associate has been there less than a year or two.
