Hey guys, I was just wondering what questions I should ask my interviewers? I'm going to be having an interview at UF, Auburn, Virginia-Maryland Regional, and Ross. I feel like I should have some questions prepared for them as well but considering I can't stop looking through the school websites, I don't know what I'd ask them that I don't already know or care to know. Any ideas?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Unlike at job interviews where you are expected to "show off" your indepth research of the company, most vet interviews don't really care (and in many cases there isn't enough time).

If they ask if you have any questions, you can say that the other sessions, talks with students etc answered all your questions. That is perfectly acceptable.

Actually, I've been told differently! Definitely have some questions prepared. Advice given to me is to ask a really thought provoking question to the members of your interview committee that may require them to sell their school, and don't ask questions that you can easily find the answer to (i.e. when can I expect to hear back from you) or that shed negative light on you (i.e. do my grades matter this last semester). Think about things that may matter to them. A good generic question may be "what is one thing you love about *insert school name here*. I had an interview this weekend and I asked them how they felt the Great Recession has affected their institution. If it's a state university, likely they've had to make some budget cuts. You may want to demonstrate a little bit of knowledge about their university. Maybe for Ross, you might ask how have things changed at the school since their recent accreditation. Think of it as one last way to make a good impression. You want to show you've done your research, and that you are an intelligent individual! Hope this helps you a little bit! Good luck 🙂

Eh. I'm with SOV. I'd only ask questions if you really had them. Something contrived just sounds ... contrived. I've been on that side of the table, and it's kinda annoying when someone takes up your time to ask questions you know they don't care about.

I simply told them that after working there two years, talking to current students for two years, taking the tour, and listening the presentations I felt I was adequately prepared and excited to attend the school..... Phrased it less obnoxiously, but you get the idea.
