I was thinking about the things I've learned in PP and how I would have asked different questions when interviewing had I known what to ask.
I will try to list some but this will in no way be all inclusive. I'm sure some others will have things to add.
Excluding the obvious questions like How much will I make? How much vacation, etc?
1) What's the relationship b/w administration and the group? What kinds of things have they disagreed on in the past?
2)relationship with the surgeons? Are any of them hard to deal/work with and why? Do they try to do non emergency cases after hours?
3)What is the OB service like? All OB's or do they have CNM's and FP pts? Who does c/s's (ie: FP)?
4) Who assigns cases for the following day?
5) Do surgeons have block time? what is their utilization? Or is it open booking? Who assigns block times?
6) Is there a doctors lounge where lunch is served? Yes, in my opinion this is important, you will get to meet other physicians on terms that you wouldn't otherwise which will make working with them much easier.
There are some questions to get you started. I should come up with more later.
