Hi everyone,

In one of my interviews, I had a difficult time as one of my interviewers did not so much focus on asking me questions. Instead, the person kept on asking whether I had any question for her three or four times. Albeit I had a few questions, I ran out of these and the conversation became quite awkward as we tried to prolong the meeting for about 45 minutes. I am just wondering if anyone has any suggestion for dealing with this dilemma. I think the best way is to mentally prepare a list of questions to ask. I am just going to list the few questions that I have been asking so far and perhaps, you guys can supplement this list as you see fit.

What are some weak/strong aspects of the medical school education here?
How diverse is the patient population?
How is the environment for collaborative research here?
How is the housing condition here?
How is the lab of faculty X that I am interested in working?
How strong is the research area of my interest compared to other universities?

Thanks.

Depends who you're talking to.

If it is a student, I'd just start a conversation.
If it is a research faculty, ask about their research (read up beforehand).
If it is a medical school rep, ask about MD/PhDs they know succeeding clinically, the best way for a MD/PhD to approach learning/experiencing med material.
If it is a MSTP rep, ask about MD/PhDs they know succeeding overall.
