quick 2x2 photo question

Get a professional picture taken, either with someone who's good at photography or at a photo studio. The first image a dental school will have of you shouldn't portray you as someone unprofessional.

I agree with azniptide, you can get a 2x2 passport photo done at CVS, Walgreens, etc. It isn't so much that those photos are better (or even good) but you took the time to do what they asked, I think anyway. Wearing a suit jacket in that photo would be a bonus

Not a selfie. I stood in front of a white wall in a solid color t-shirt, smiled, and had someone take a picture. Then I cropped it down. Don't pay money for a professional photo

Pretty much what I did, but I wore my blazer jacket and a blouse.

I sent in my passport photo, taken at CVS.
Man it was the uggliest one ever, 2x2 size with a 1.5x1.5 area already just my big face.
But I'm not about to pay more money to have it retake. 🙁

I took the pic on my laptop before and just had on a button down and tie and jacket ...and boxers....just make sure you crop it right

I used my passport photo; they didn't let me smile in it but I ended up with interviews at both schools that I sent it to so I really don't think it affects your chances in the least bit.

I wore a button up and went to CVS. They were about to charge me some insane amount until I told them what it was for, and gave me like a 75% discount

This depends on the CVS. The last time I went to a pharmacy for a professional-ish picture, the guy shot my photo with a point-and-shoot that was at least 10 years old...

For something as professional as dental school, it's DSLR-quality or bust.

Man yall are thinking too much. I got interviews at all the schools that required the photo. But that's probably because my aesthetics would be 10/10 even on a Polaroid

Yes.. just take a selfie with a duckface.
C'mon, you've already paid hundreds, if not thousands for the application process. Go get at least something that is remotely professional.
