Hey everyone, I wrote this post in the NBDE section and got no responses.

Hey guys, I was hoping one of you could tell me if you have to pass each individual section of the NBDE Part 1 exam, or if you can excel in one area to make up for being deficient in another. A common example would be missing more anatomy questions than you should, but dominating the occlusion/morphology section to bring your score up. Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, I believe this does not work. You must pass each section with a 75 or better. You can't dominate 1 section with upper 90's and bomb another with 50's to average it out. Look this up to confirm. There has to be info on this somewhere with NBDE. BTW, I'm also a 4th year at UMKC coincidentally. Good luck with your exam.

I believe all you need is around a raw total of 220-240 correct ( or a 55-60%) for a Pass, regardless of how you scored in each section.

This is my understanding as well. If you are turbo with the dental material, it gives you quite a bit of wiggle room in the sciences.
