Hey guys, I couldn't find anything quite like this in the archives.

I was looking over my 'courses' section, and I saw that I'd missed categorizing some of my classes as 'Honors'. There's only one class that has Honors in the title, the one that covers my thesis and special topics, and it's the only one that's 'Honors' in the traditional sense. I went to the University of Vermont, where I was in one of the first classes for their new Honors College. Each semester we had to take a special Honors College class to fulfill our collegiate responsibility. 🙂 If these classes were designed for students pursuing the honors program, and covered a variety of topics, but were listed as 'honors college' instead of 'honors', should I still classify all of them as 'Honors' on the application? Or just my thesis credits?

The word 'Honors' is in this post ten (10) times.

...yeah, didn't really re-read that before I posted. I swear it sounded perfectly eloquent and sensible at the time. 🙄

I don't tink it matters too much how you designate it. If it has honors in the title or in the course designation on your transcript, then call it honors. Otherwise, don't sweat it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it either. The committees are comparing so many courses from so many different schools so honors at one might not be comparable to honors at another, etc. I would just include it in the title if that is the official name and otherwise, just don't sweat it. It's not going to be the defining factor of your application, I am sure.
