Most schools say the following: "Letters must be submitted on official stationery and signed by the recommender."

Perhaps someone with experience without a pre-med committee can help me. If they give the letter to my advisor so he can make copies, are copies still allowed? In other words, the signature and stationary aren't "original." Is that okay?

Thanks

If the letters are mailed directly from your letter writers, I believe that they have to actually sign every single letter.

However, there are some letter distribution services (Either operated by the university or commercial companies), where the letter writers can mail one copy of the letter, and the distribution services will make copies and mail them to the medical schools. In this case, copying the letters is fine.
