I'd like one of my gen chem professors to write me a letter of recommendation and shes interested in doing so however she isn't currently a professor where I took her class. She is still a professor just at a different school. Will there be an issue if I have her write me a letter? Do the professors have to be currently teaching at the same school in order for the letter to be considered valid?

Thanks in advance.

I doubt it as long as your professor mentions that you were in her class at so and so university.

I think that a letter from a professor who knows you and your attributes well (even if she's no longer at your school) is better than a letter from a professor who is at your school and isn't as familiar with you.
Plus, I'm sure in your letter the professor will mention that she got to know you from teaching at her previous job.
Just my opinion, but it can't hurt to call a few dental schools to see what they think.
