Hi all,

I was just wondering what i should tell my prof when I ask her for my recommendation letter about how she should get it to me or AADSAS. Should I tell her to hold onto it until June 3? Do I send her like an email link where she can upload it? Or something to do with Interfolio?

Sorry about my cluelessness in this part of the application, really it's the only part that confuses me 🙁

Thanks everyone and have a great Monday~!

You will add her name in the LOR section of the AADSAS application. As soon as you do this she will receive an email with instructions on how to submit the letter. I believe she just uploads it right from that email. Just tell her to keep an eye out for that email. Just a word of warning, the email will be sent to her as soon as you add her to the LOR section, not when you complete and submit your application, so don't be an idiot like me and add someones name before you ask them to write the letter, that was an awkward conversation.

Thank you so much! Will keep that in mind for sure!

Just remember that if you do choose to go through Interfolio you'll have to print out a LoE Matching Form and give that to professors writing your letters. Both interfolio and the direct upload option are electronic, but because you are sending the LoE's (LoR's) through a service other than AADSAS, they treat it like a paper submission.

The perk about doing it through interfolio that I found out from asking others on this forum is that once your professors upload them to interfolio, you can keep those in storage for multiple cycles in case you don't get in the year you want (God forbid) and want to apply again the following year. You can essentially reuse the letters (should you choose) and send them straight from interfolio as opposed to asking your professors to send the same letter again.

Hope that makes sense / helps

So, the LoE matching Forms must be separately mailed to AADSAS (since the Interfolio submission of LoE is now electronic)? By me or by the profs?

Thanks,

Edit: Nvm, clarified.

About the perk- don't you have to "save" the letters in interfolio? I was under the impression that it will otherwise reset if you don't save them by a certain date. I could be totally wrong, just looking for clarification.
