Hey Guys,

I've been lucky enough to get a couple interviews but I haven't heard a peep from other schools that have already started requesting interviews (specifically BU, UConn, NYU, Columbia, Louisville, Penn, UNLV, and UOP).

Can I conclude that my file has been reviewed and that I won't be getting an interview to a school if my Application Complete e-mail and mailing date were earlier than people who were invited to interviews?

I'm wondering the same thing. You never know, though. They could have pushed it into another pile, they could be checking your references, etc etc. They could be waiting for a specific opinion from someone.

Don't lose hope until you are officially rejected.

Maybe they don't review applications in order of mailing date? I don't know, but I'm wondering the same thing.

I know that most (if not all) don't care about the mailing date. I believe they process applications as they become complete. If someone was in the first or second batch but didn't pay their supplemental fee until today, they'd be at the bottom of the pile.

I called a couple schools today to inquire and they all asked "when did you get the application complete e-mail?".

Still seems pretty random to me; like a shuffled deck of cards. Whoever is at the top of the pile for now is getting reviewed first. It also seems that there are a lot of things that might cause someone to get an earlier date than someone else... Who knows lol 👍

I'm waiting for schools as well, but I'm not too concerned (yet) 😀

do all schools send application complete email? i've received completion emails for just a few schools... should I call the other schools to ask if my application is complete?

I applied to a lot of schools and all but one gave some sort of a notification that my application was complete.

I'm starting to wonder at what point I should start calling schools and asking if I've been reviewed and rejected. Any ideas?

WAY to early to start considering rejection! Just sit tight and be patient. My DAT scores weren't even to the schools by this time when I applied.

Some schools may put you in a holding pile and give you an interview later and others may not have gotten to your application yet.

If you start calling now to see if you are rejected they might just put you in the rejected pile. Wait until after dec 1st, at the very least.

I am "hold for interview" for 6 weeks.
I asked one of my friends at that school to find out what is 'wrong' with my application. (so that if i need to do more shadowing or something. I can do a massive amount by december.)

Should I tell her not to do it???

And can "hold for interview" mean they haven't reviewed application yet? I have seen someone here submitted secondary 3 weeks later than mine and got an invite 2 days later.

From my experience "hold for interview" means that you were reviewed and not thrown out/ rejected. They may be waiting to see how well some of the interviews go from other students or want to allow more applications to come in to be considered before they give you an interview.

I think that it is fine if you inquire about what you maybe able to do in the mean time to improve your application. Having a friend check for you might be ok or even calling and strategically inquiring would be fine.

My comment earlier was more geared towards if they should call to see if they have been "reviewed or rejected". I would not call to see if your application was reviewed/rejected.

I WOULD CALL to confirm that the school received your complete application and whether their is anything else they need from you. At this point you may add in some follow up questions such as inquiring about specifics but I would only do it if it is well thought out and seems to fit into the conversation.
