I'm going to shadow an on staff pharmacist and Miami Children's. How many hours should I shadow to really immerse myself in the field. I have never shadowed a pharmacist before and would also appreciate some advice.

I don't think there is a minimum/maximum number of hours you should be striving for. Honestly, the longer you immerse yourself in pharmacy practice the more you will learn. I've shadowed a hospital pharmacist before and have worked as a retail tech for 4.5 years and I'm STILL learning. The more hours you can put in the better off you will be. Plus, it will show your dedication to the field and not just look like you shadowed a pharmacist for a day or 2 because you felt obligated to.

Thank you very much, my shadowing opportunity is during my spring break so I'll try to get even more during the summer.

Try to give the Pharmacist an idea of how long (how many hours per day) you intend to shadow him/her. This will end up helping both of you out!

You probably already have, but I figured I would just mention it.
