Ok so when a school says "The Financial Aid Office allows $1,500 under the 1st year budget to purchase books/pda/ect", is that included in tuition or are they just saying you can take a loan out for that much?

Wherever I go... I'm really not looking forward to the financial aid process...

I'd say that it is probably included in your budget (cost of attendance) if it is listed separately like that, meaning you are responsible for getting it yourself.

That is to say that you can get loans to cover this, but it is not formally included in your tuition. I may have just repeated myself but I wanted to be clear about what I am trying to say. 🙂
