Hey guys,

If your invited for an interview, is the majority of your acceptance based on how that interview goes, or will they still take into consideration your grades and oat scores.....I mean, for you to be offered an interview, shouldn't your acceptance mostly be based on the interview, since it was your grades and oat scores that made the school give you an interview in the first place? The only reason I ask is because I'm not feeling too confident (especially after having read some of the stats of the people whom have been accepted on this forum) about my OAT scores and GPA, but was given an interview by ICO.....

When you get an interview, that means they like everything about you and think you're stats are good enough, they just want to be able to test your communication skills. Show them that you are personable, be positive and don't worry. They will try and make you sweat, but don't let them see that. I was thrown a couple curveballs in my interview, but I answered my questions honestly and with confidence. Let them know that Optometry is what you want and that you believe ICO is the school for you. You will be fine!

Just relax in your interview at ICO...it's REALLY laid back! my stats are GPA 3.58 TS 330 AA 320....I was accepted to ICO and IU. Just relax and be yourself and you will be fine.

Can you get an interview even if you have not taken the OAT yet? (but are scheduled to?)

thanks you guys.....your responses have really got me feeling more confident going into the interview🙂

hey no worries about it- i think they interview you based on everything they see on your file. i got interviews from all schools before i wrote my oat and got accepted to one without my oat scores- it was a provisional acceptance.... but i wrote the oat two days after the interview so it was not a long wait......

just study the sdn questions and be prepared to be asked anything on your file- just be enthusiastic!!!

good luck!!! no worries i dont have the best gpa either la.....
