In the NRMP data, are DO applicants considered "US Seniors" or "Independent Applicants"?

US seniors refers to MD school seniors. Independent applicants includes DO's, MDs who didn't go straight to residency or who are doing a 2nd residency, or foreign medical grads (whether US citizens or not).
