this was in the tutorial but wasn't explained. The answer is C.. but wouldn't A work? If you look at the different shapes for each choice, and then where it corresponds in the top view, there is a solid line followed by a dashed line.. then the little square structure, and then a dashed line followed by a solid line. Wouldn't both A and C work?

A wouldn't work because the top of the shape inside isn't perpendicular to the base therefore on the top vie we would see more dotted vertical lines. Its hard to explain by text but I hope that helps

we will still see 2 dotted vertical lines?? For A, when the shape is slanted down like that, there will be a dotted vertical line for each time the shape touches the base.

Look carefully at the horizontal lines in A, specifically the one going through the trapezoid. The horizontal line should be fully dotted, like it is in 'C'.

In 'A', it is dotted going through the trapezoid, but becomes solid on the outside. Hard to see, but it's there

didnt see that.. thanks!

bump! please help! thank you!

Yeah I am also confused how come D can't be the answer...C and D are identical except for the shape in the middle one is round another is square I would choose D..don't know how can we distinguish between round and square...
