I just worked through the very first BIO section for Qvault and get a 17 (after studying for ~1.5 months) I was thrown off on quite a few questions which don't make any appearance at all in cliffs (I ctrl+f'd it) like the dandruff question. Is this normal or should I hit the BIO a lot harder? Planning to take the DAT by the end of this month. Should I continue taking qvault bio tests or should I study up a bit more (I play to re-read all of cliffs in the next ~2 weeks) and hit the qvault again?

EDIT: Meanwhile, I've been going through chad's quizzes (BIO) which I've consistently getting 0-3 wrong on (20 question versions.) They seem to be right on w/ cliffs/barrons. So I'm somewhat conflicted here.

read the explanation and understand, make index cards from those. qvault itself has a lot of info.

The bio section is sort of luck based in a sense that it could ask you about any obscure topics that you have not studied yet. I personally used AP Cliffs + KBB for the bio section. I read both books twice. At the end of each datqvault bio test, it should tell you what subjects you are weak in. I would focus on those subjects.
