This problem is driving me nuts. Took me forever to try to do this but STILL couldn't come up with the right answer. Am I just doing this wrong or is the correct answer actually NOT correct?


I included the question in the attachment. The top is the actual answer and the bottom is what I think it should be (with my work). I feel like the actual answer is missing an -CH2-.

I am pretty positive your answer is the correct one, datqvault is known for its occasional errors. When in doubt, count your carbons out!

I think qvault is wrong too. They just missed a carbon somewhere. This is ketone/aldehyde condensation and you should be right

So lame haha, I guess it prepares you to guess the most reasonable answer and skip problems like the real thing.
