Can anyone who is registered with NRMP be kind enough to share a list of RO programs currently listed for IM and for Anesthesia? It seems silly for me to pay $60 just to see the list if there is not a program I am interested in.
Thanks in advance.

IM programs will have ZERO R positions. R positions are only for programs that normally use the match to fill advanced spots, which then have open spots for the year of the match. Since IM only fills PGY-1 spots, they will not use R positions to fill PGY-2 spots (although nothing stops them from doing so, most will simply sign people outside the match).

Anesthesia will have R positions, but they don't need to lock them in until January. Chances are, most programs might not even know they have an open spot yet (since applicants have until January to request a waiver), and even those that do may simply wait to change their quotas until later.

I just logged into the NRMP system, and there are around 35 programs in anesthesia with R positions listed. Most programs have 1 spot. One program has listed 6 spots, and has withdrawn their Advanced match spots. I wonder if this is a mistake, or if they have decided to get out of the Advanced match business and only match R positions.

As usual, great info and thank you.
Question on IM:
If a program has an open spot for mid year PGY 1 or Beginning of year PGY 2 can they offer those spots outside of the match if they are a match participating program? I thought the "all in" rule would prevent that.

PGY-1 positions can be offerd outside the match as long as the person starts before Feb 1.
PGY-2 positions can be offered outside the match all the time if the program doesn't match PGY-2 spots (i.e. fills all categorical), or again if the person starts before Feb 1.

Can you post the anesthesia R0 spots?

You should be able to get an ERAS token, sign in and look at them. Signing up for ERAS is free. You don't need to look them up in the NRMP website. Just a thought.

In ERAS they are classified as "physician only"

How might I go about getting an ERAS token, since I graduated last year?

Call/email your med school (unless you are a foreign grad and then I have no clue), ask for a token from dean's office. Sign up.

Dude, doing so would be illegal.

Just sign up for NRMP for $60 and the list is yours, immediately.

Or, sign up for ERAS which is free.

Not to mention that these lists may change over time.
