I just heard back from Radford that I am waitlisted and was wondering if those who were accepted could please share when you need to put a deposit down/how much the deposit is? I am really hoping to get off the waitlist and find out any information that I can. Thank you!

I was also waitlisted. Iam also curious about this information but I am also thinking about sending an email asking these exact questions. If I do and. find out I will post here (if nobody else has posted).

Here is the reply I received (in case anyone is just visiting this forum and is curious).

"Applicants have 2 weeks to reply if they are accepting admission, and 30 days to make a 500.00 seat deposit. If they don’t make their deposit we immediately fill the seat, and if people deny offers we immediately fill the seat as well.

We don’t disclose wait list position since it isn’t very meaningful information at this point. When we have applicants who score within such a small range, don’t feel it is fair to really order them, and use more of a lottery approach. Last year we had numerous seats open up, and even 2-3 from people who ended up forfeiting their seat deposit."

So I just got an acceptance email for the program today!

Hi guys! I applied to Radford's MSOT program for this fall and just received an interview date. If you all don't mind me asking what were your stats? If you do not feel comfortable posting on here, you can PM me. I am just very curious and nervous as RU is my top pick. Thanks!

Also, can you guys please tell me what you received in your pre req courses? Thank you!

Oh man, it is interesting to read back at this and see that I am now one of the people who forfeited my seat after paying the deposit (I was accepted to a program closer to home which is nicer due to the pandemic this year).

I can't recall my exact stats, but in terms of pre-reqs I believe I had a couple of B+'s a couple A-'s and the rest A's.

Have you had your interview yet? I'm curious to know how they held them this year due to covid? Obviously online, but were they group etc?

Hello, I have my interview on the 11th and it is fully online and a group interview lasting about 3 hours!

okay obviously it will be a little different because it is online, but last year they had us all meet together with the other interviewees and faculty, then each faculty member and interviewees did introductions. After this we were separated into three small groups. One group did an individual interview (asked general interview questions, can't recall specifics though), then another group did a group activity (we had to build something as a team and then explain our reasoning for it, and the last part was a tour. Because they had the main campus and RUC it was all a virtual tour.

I imagine this format could be very similar virtually as we were expected to have the same time frame. I imagine they will place all of you in groups and have you go in breakout rooms, with those who are doing the individual interview sitting in the "main room" and going to one breakout room for the individual interview. Then likely a breakout room for the virtual tour, and some type of group activity in another breakout room.

I would say not to be too nervous. All of the staff are excited for you to be there and to share their love of OT. I spent a little bit of time looking up some of the research faculty have done but I would also recommend you browse through they Facebook, especially for the things they have posted since when the pandemic started.

Honestly if it wasn't for the pandemic I really would be attending there, but when I received an offer for a school within a few hours of a drive (instead of clear across the country) I knew what would be better for me mentally.

Great, thank you so much for giving me this information. I really appreciate it. We just got an email tonight on what to expect and it sounds pretty much just like how you were set up last year. I am not really nervous, because like you said the staff at RU is so nice and genuine. I totally understand about wanting to attend a school closer to home. Radford is about 4 hours from my home so I am really hoping to attend there. Thank you for the information and I hope OT school is treating you well! 🙂
