Anyone in retail had a raise in their base pay lately? I've had an annual merit increase, but to the actual base pay, mine hasn't been raised in about a year and 4 months, which seems like a long time for retail. Just wondering if others in retail have hit a plateau.

Got a yearly raise last year that wasn't much. I'm personally not expecting one this year. It seems pay is stabilizing. The real question is if we will eventually see a decrease in pay? Thoughts?

I've had small (2%) COL increases each of the last 2 years and am expecting a slightly larger one this year I'm happy to get any increase at all, honestly. I think I am compensated very well, no complaints here 🙂

Law of supply and demand. Not a certainty in our case but a possibility if things don't change. Brace for the rough water ahead.

Flex staffing means pharmacists and techs are staffed according to the volume (# of scripts - retail / # of census in hospital) which forces employers to mandate 32 hour work week where employees work 32 hours and get paid for 32 hours.

What Z is trying to say is... if your store is scheduled for 44 hours a week, and it is cut to 43, 42, 41, or 40... you will be losing 10 percent of your salary. This is the common trend in retail so far.

I am on salary at my job. To get every thing done with all the hours that have been cut I work 45 to 48 hours a week. So I guess if you plot my salary out hourly I am making less money because I have to work more hours over 40 to get things done.

The pharmacists at my hospital were griping about this the other day. No one's salary has gone down, but they are working more hours than in the past (particularly on the weekend), so it is kinda like being paid less. I think we will see more of this moving forward, but not necessarily a lower base pay.
