Random Drug Testing During Residency?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm curious, how many of you anti-stoners have actually smoked a j and felt like doing any of the dumb sh*! you do when you're drunk. - EtOH is a much greater public health risk!

Oh yeah, the old 'but its not as bad as booze' line. But guess what, if you 'attend patient under the influence of wiskey' (as the SC medical code so nicely puts it), you get your license pulled as well.

Rationalization, how hard would life be without it.

(And, I don't hate you, or any other addict for that matter.)

Wow. This is a hostile thread... Anyway, to lighten things up, check:

This should help with all those who CHOOSE to smoke a little mj or snort a little coke. Why not, coke is the white collar drug. Let's just not dip into the tar... baby.

If a physician is ordered to provide forensic-level urine drug tests in order to keep his license, we make damn sure he's using the real thing, and will cath if necessary.

Yeah, I agree that being intoxicated during a shift is totally unresponsible... Just gave the link to lighten things up.
