I am not sure if this has been covered. This might take a while to explain my situation so work with me. 🙂
anyways, this question regards Santa Monica City College's (in LA) registration policies. Hopefully, this has the same rules for many JC's in CA.
I am planning to move down to LA for 6 months starting January 2005 until around June. I currently live in Northern California and just graduared from UC Davis. I am taking microbiology right now at Sac City College to pass the time this fall semester. After this semester, the remaining pre-req's for pharm school will be anatomy and physiology, both which I hope to take at SMC in LA.
Everyone knows these science pre-req's are VERY popular and always full, and in some schools they're damn near impossible getting into unless you have continuing/priority registration. Therefore, I am VERY paranoid about not getting in (especially since I am moving down there too). So right now, I am enrolled in one SMC online course so I can have that priority registration status come sprong 2005. HOWEVER, this online course is not what I thought it'd be (VERY DRY material and a waste of time) and I want to drop it! This is my first and only class at SMC.
My question is if I drop it, will I still be considered a continuing student when it comes time to register for next semester?
Has anyone ever been in this situation before? By the way, I have already paid for my course fees, tuition, and my registration fees, etc. if that matters.
I sent an email to the school but am still waiting for a response. And if any of you know SMC, it takes FOREVER to speak with an operator on the phone about anything and most of the time, they have NO CLUE! But I will call if I have to.
Anyone have any info on this matter?
