For people who have taken the DAT already can you be so kind as to give everyone else some insight on these problems.

1) I've encountered a lot of random fish questions about fresh/salt water and excess urine/secretion through gills...blah blah... Has anyone seen this on the DAT?

2) I've encountered questions about mutualism and commensalism but yet I've never seen anyone refer to these in their breakdowns. Should we expect different types of ecology/evolution questions? Such as divergent evolution?

3)MICROSCOPES....I haven't came across a lot of these in my practice problems but I have seen them in peoples breakdowns. Should we mostly study the basic ones such as compound/light? Or did anyone see any crazy stuff?

4) I use Crack The Dat Science (Its Terrible). I see a lot of things in GenChem about what color would this reaction be or what color would this pH be (something like that). Has anyone ever came across a problem like this on your DAT?

I know you guys aren't able to give specific examples because of the confidentiality agreement or whatever but any help or tips would be extremely appreciated to us who haven't taken it yet.

I took the DAT on 6/25/14

1. I encountered something like the fish problem and osmolarity on the DAT, so it is worth your time to study into that.

2. Didn't see one.

3. There was a question on the type of microscope used to obtain a particular image. I used this page to study for it: http://www.cas.miamioh.edu/mbi-ws/microscopes/types.html

4. No color-change problems. GenChem was always my weakest subject, but using Khan Academy vids in conjunction with DAT Bootcamp really helped. Study up limiting reagents and other stoichiometry problems.

Subscribe to DAT question of the day if possible, and follow study programs. DAT Bootcamp was super helpful, and I found myself going thru the tests more and more as the test date came closer and closer. Khan Academy videos plugged any holes I had in Ochem and Gchem.
