hey guys (and gals)!

I was just wondering what schools are considered the best for specializing? i mean coming form what dental school do you have the best chances of getting in a post doc program? I know there are no "official" rankings but you all seem pretty well versed in this topic...
-Peace out

PS I already know about the ivies being good...but aren't there others????? <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="frown.gif" />

Fizzine,

Welcome to "our" forum and it's good to see you posting!! From my experiences and many debates with other cool SDN Pre-dents, I strongly believe that Temple has a great reputation as well in placing their graduates into specialty training!

A few examples from this year's stats (graduating seniors):

100% for Oral Surgery (5 out of 5)
80% for Ortho (4 out of 5)

With all that being said, I am, however, a strong believer that you get what you put in! You can go to Howard or Meharry and earn superb GPAs and boards and have ample, ample research, clinical procedure in a particular specialty of your choice, you too can be a great candidate for that specialty position!

To sum, if you want a school that is not in the Ivy League that has a great history of placing their graduates into specialties, then I will have to nominate TEMPLE!
