Rank to match email

no. everyone just makes it up.

o.m.g. you are so witty!!!

Regarding the question - I've heard of them but I haven't gotten any or know of any of my friends who have gotten one so far this season.

A couple programs specifically told us that we shouldn't freak if we don't hear anything after the interview because no one gets anything.

I've been on 15 interviews so far and while I've gotten some very positive post-interview communications from some programs, I've yet to see one of these mythical 'ranked to match' emails - so either I'm totally screwed or a lot of progs don't do that. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I think it's still a bit too early for an email like that.

This. Remember, for many specialties interviews go through the end of the month, so they couldn't really tell you that yet anyways. But I also think a lot of programs don't do them, either.

I just got a letter in the mail that said "We can't tell you where you are on our list, but you'll be ranked highly"

Of course urology is early and our rank lists are already in.

A friend in anesthesia just got a love letter from a school, but I'm not sure if it talked about how they'd rank him.

Just keep in mind that "ranked highly" does not mean the same as "ranked to match." My program has been known to send out the ranked-to-match emails, but I hate doing it.

Everyone should just rank the programs they like best in the order of preference without regard for the amount of "love" they get from programs. Then the Match can work the way it was intended to.
