I have 2 remaining courses to complete this summer before pharmacy school begins in the fall: General Physics and an elective course. I was planning to do both at my current university, but of course, they won't be offering either for the first time this summer. So I look at my local community college, which is conveniently located down the road from my university...and no luck either. The only public institution [read:not outrageously expensive i.e. private] that offers Physics and the elective is an hour away, and the most direct route is a highway where traffic is horrendous every rush hour. And when are the classes scheduled? One right after the morning rush and one ending right before rush hour in the evening. Meaning I have to wake up even earlier to beat the morning traffic. For 2 months, and a few days to spare before moving to pharmacy school.

F my life lol

Edit: I drive a car that is close to 2 decades old, breaks down, and has no A/C in a summer climate that reaches 90+. Good times.

And when you're a Pharmacist looking back on this experience, it'll be worth it.

This upcoming semester will be really similar in overall "suckiness" to what you're describing, except mine will be 16 weeks instead of 8 weeks. 😀 The ability to handle duress well is an excellent attribute as a Pharmacist, so get in there and kick ass.

Those who draw up most universities' summer class schedules have heads full of rocks. It's true, it's true.

They're also working on (usually) a very small professor base who are willing to teach during summer, and they have to plan on a lot fewer students on attending classes also.

I'm with you bro. I'll be moving across the country to complete my outstanding prereqs.

Sounds terrible. Guess this is a lesson to those who can plan ahead...don't leave pre-reqs for summer before P1!

I think the universities are just cutting back on budget since the economy is not doing so well. Classes get cut or not offered as much to save $$$

I live in Sacramento... I'll be moving to Tucson for 2 months (the week after I'm finished with Sacramento State) to take O.Chem II... then it's back to Sacramento for a month... then down to Las Vegas for pharmacy school in August.

Should be fun. 😀
