Has anyone tried using this book for the USMLE? It seems to me that since it contains both anatomy and embryology in one source, I am saving time over using both HY Gross anatomy and HY Embryology. It is also in the Rapid Review series, which I think overall is not too bad.

I just bought it a couple days ago 🙂 I like it so far...any comments from someone who's been using RR anatomy for more than 3 days?

I emailed the rumorsweretrue guy who had his own blog.

He read the book, but said it was way too much for step 1, despite being a very enjoyable read.

I like it, but i just skip over a lot of the information. Like the guy above me said it can be far too detailed at times.

I'm finding RR Gross Anatomy so detailed and dense that there's no way I'll remember enough information to justify spending time reading this book.

Does anyone think this book is worth the time investment? I have 2 months til step 1, and classes are still going on.

Massive overkill. The thing about anatomy is that besides nerve stuff (know that cold) it's almost impossible to study for because there's an almost infinite number of possible things to test in the relatively few anatomy questions you'll get. I didn't even bother studying anatomy beyond what popped up in UW and FA, and that was the right decision.

In contrast, embryo tests out of a fairly small set of things. FA Embryo really is almost everything you'll see. I was horrible at embryo and I could answer all but 1 of my embryo questions out of it (and that one I couldn't have gotten even if I'd read a textbook).
