just in case anyone cares....

page 592 states that Guillain-Barre has both increased CSF protein and lymphocytes.

The protein should definitely be increased, but a somewhat important part of the diagnosis lies w/ there being a NORMAL wbc count, aka the "albuminocytologic dissociation"

It also left out that it is commonly preceeded by a viral infection, not just bacterial (myco. pneumo and campylobacter)
 
ha...and you thought I was one of the normal ones....

Either way, we're doing Neuro now and 2 different profs, one a PhD and one a Clinician, both made it a point to mention the dissociation in the CSF so I figured it was kinda important...
